Buck Teeth

The poor title of this post...the only thing I have to say is,"God love my brother inlaw." For the ones who know my brother in law Ross, you all know he is CRAZY funny!!

We had pictures taken in November for Elliot's Dads side of the family and my itty bitties learned a new phrase from their uncle... Buck Teeth. I can not tell you why he thought them this or how it came up but we spent the next few days, no I take that back more like weeks trying to phase out that term. KK and Cannon thought it was hilarious and they were saying in not appropriate settings...like Awana's
and at school. Cannon even asked Ole St Nick if he knew what Buck Teeth were and he asked if any of the Shepard's that meet baby Jesus had buck teeth. Oh Ross, just wait until you have kids!!

Oh and he taught my precious ones to say, "Lets bounce," when it's time to leave.
Yay, so "let's bounce!"

Going once, going twice...SOLD

In November, I was thankful that my sweet precious sister came to visit us from Iowa. The kiddos and I picked her up from the airport and then she became my partner in parenting over the next couple of days.

Chief was pinned ( haha...a wrestling term ) down with wrestling tournaments and I was in charge of the 2nd annual Santa's Silent auction at KK's school. The PTO board started this event last year and it went beyond our expectations so we did it again this year. We had gumbo, cookies and milk, auction items galore and of course Mr and Mrs Claus. It was a success again this year and I am oh so thankful for the wonderful ladies that serve on our PTO board. Great job again girls!!

Three weeks later we had our Dessert Theater at SBLA, this event is a similar to a dinner theater but with dessert instead and live/silent auction.
All of our kiddos (students) took part in performing The Littlest Christmas Tree and all of our classes donated two or more child driven art pieces. Precious! We doubled our profit from last year and more importantly our ministry is growing beyond measures.
My sweet ones ( my kiddos) were so cute in their costumes... CE was a mouse of the forrest and Cannon was a fragrant Skunk!!!

You can't see Cannon tail in this only picture I was able to snap as he jetted onto the stage but the tail MADE the costumes! Our teachers worked so hard on all the costumes and completed them way ahead of schedule! Yay ladies!!!

Organized Chaos

I am back Jack!!!

Holy smokes batman this season of life has been flying by literally.
The Jacobs pack is going strong and living life to the fullest these days. We have had so many changes and I have many updates to document so I can remember these blessed days!!

Christmas is in less than a week and I am completely ready, first time everything is done... Bought, wrapped and baked...check!! Yay!

I am loving my little job at the church and I am sooo thankful to work with amazing Christian woman three days a week...there is a huge possibility to have my " purpose in life job," within the next week. Praying God continues to open those doors.

I have been training for the Little Rock half marathon... Getting nervous really nervous.

Got my fingers shut in the car door, couldn't get the door open waited 20 minutes for my precious friend Laura who saved me...literally. After passing out in the drive way I only had one broken finger and a huge cut!
Praise the Lord and it was on the day of Dessert Theater! Yay!!

We took the Jacobs pack to see Santa yesterday....

-

Cannon was beyond excited and he is enjoying this season so much! He cant wait to see what baby Jesus gets for his birthday which means he is totally getting and listening to me talk! Haha!

Camdyn Elliot... Oh my sweet goodness. We can wear piggy tails/dog ears...

She is growing so fast and the Lord has such huge plans with her personality...it is going to be something! She is loving her bobo and bubba!!!
She is such a little momma and is talking ALL the time...Elliot is dying!

We celebrated KK's 10th birthday a few weeks ago... Yes 10, I won't go there!
We had a gym party which included 30 friends, pizza and Bama cupcakes and dodge ball...lots of it!! Haha! They had a blast and were wore out after all the running... Here is KK opening his present from Dad and Mom...

Yes, it is a phone an iphone to be exact. I wont go into details but Chief thought it was a necessity. He was the last one in his group of friends to get a phone. Pathetic, yes, tell me about it!

sending love and fun.

Sweet Girl is ONE!!!!

Okay, so I have put this post on hold as long as I could almost like she wouldn't turn 13 months if I did not do it! Ha!

We only have two more weeks as a 12 month old and it truly makes me oh so sad that our baby girl is already one. This has been the hardest first birthday out of all three kiddos and this momma is still soaking in it.

We didn't do a big party but opted for just family at her one year birthday and I also decided to spend the money on pictures instead of going crazy stupid ( hopes this doesn't offend anyone sorry) on spending for a blow out 1st birthday party! I have a wonderful dear precious friend from high school who is an amazing photographer and I mean amazing... Here is a sneak peak...

-

I am in love with them and should be receiving the rest this week... I can not wait!!! Heather was beyond wonderful and she also has amazing prices and I mean great prices ( y'all know I am super cheap and budget conscience! )

We have lots of " names" for Camdyn as : chatty Kathy, little momma, sweet girl, nosey rosie, CE, Cammie, wild woman( Cannon's), sissy, sister and baby girl!

She loves to climb and I am meaning like shelves, the pantry and chairs!! Lord help me! She loves to attack the boys and she screetches when she pulls Cannon 's hair!

Her love for Mickey Mouse runs deep... Already! She loves to dance ( hot dog dance) and do her gymnastics moves on the rug! Her hand stand with one leg up kills us all the time and boy she loves to clap for herself after her show!

She is such a little chatty Kathy.. Momma, bubba, dadda, yum yum, bye bye, ball, room room ( for a match box car) and dink.

She pushes her baby dolls around all day or she puts them in her grocery buggy and bosses them! CE also loves to play with Cannon' cars and his animals!

We spent her actually birthday morning going to the donut shop and at Chief's football practice! She loves being a practice and she will run right at the boys or across the field! Lovely! Here she is...

My parents ordered a special cake just for her while we were visiting...

Do you think she enjoyed it?? After she finished and we put her in the bath we found out she is allergic to dye ( still unsure which one exactly) she had hives covering her where the icing had been. Poor baby!

CE also took part in a formula study with our Ped clinic so we didn't switch to whole milk until she officially turned one. It was a great experience and here is Camdyn with our sweet nurse Lori.

We were able to easily make the switch with the milk and we had changed her to a silly cup only a few weeks before. We still have a paci...but our precious Dr Weed said by two... We are working!

CE sleeps ... Oh my she loves sleep! She goes down between 8-8:30 and sleeps until 7 am. Before last week she still took 3, yes 3, naps daily. She would usually sleep for at least an hour and 1/2 or two hours! We are transitioning to one nap during the day due to her being moved up at preschool to the toddler class!
Which I am also not ready to talk about yet, Toddler class? Sad day!

Camdyn Elliot,
Gosh, we love you sister! Daddy and I could not imagine our life without you, you are sooo much fun and funny! Your personality is so big and we can't wait to see how the Lord uses it throughout your life... It is going to be amazing! You have brought so much happiness and joy to our family and the boys love you to pieces!
God has blessed us with you sweet girl and I adore each little bit of you.. Seriously I could eat you up! Some days I think forward to our relationship as you grow and I pray it is an awesome mom/daughter bond, you smile with your eyes and I can just see the fun and happiness you will have!
I love you little momma!

Run with the Sun

Five weeks ago while sitting on the beach in Gulf Shores without my kiddos around it hit me...for the last 9 1/2 years I have had at least one child attached to me. That weekend Chief and I talked about me finding something to do for "me" without kiddos around! Something to give me some piece of mind and to clear my head each morning while the sun rises. So.... Five weeks later...

I completed my first 5K.... 3.1 miles!! Yah! I have to brag for just a minute...I was not a runner five weeks ago, I couldn't run around the track one time without stopping. Pitiful, yes I know, but not anymore! I kicked it's tail on Saturday morning... My finish time was 29 min 39 sec and I finished 3rd in my age group 20-30's and was 29 out of 100 females!!!!

Chief and the crew went with me and cheered momma on the whole way. I saw them right after the start of the race then as I came around the back corner for the final quarter to the finish I saw them... Chief video in hand, KK with my phone taking pictures, Cannon waving me down and CE clapping for her momma! It was precious; I smiled so big and it brought tears to my eyes! Ever since I have been married to Chief ( well actually since I met him) we have always cheered him on ( literally) playing college ball, semi pro and now as a coach... This time he was literally yelling for me and waving me down!!! He kept telling me all day after the race how proud he was and how he couldn't wait to cheer me on again! I am so thankful for him each day and feel so blessed to have him.

Sorry about that mushy stuff....ewwwww!!!

Of course we were supporting the Tide too... 2 weeks until kick off!!!

I am secretly ( well, not anymore) training for a half marathon in December and hoping to also run another 1/2 in March here in Little Rock! I start the hard core training mid September so please keep me in your prayers!

Next up.... CE turned 1!!!!
God Bless!

Are you ready for some football???

Well, if you are not ready you betta get there!!!

Chief has been back on contract for a few weeks, 2 a days started this week and the heat is at an all time high!!! RI-DIC-ULOUS!!!!!

Last night my sweet precious cousin sent me a email and a link... both contained info about my MAIN squeese...   ohhhh Nick Saban!!!! The first part of the email kinda made me sad.. all Alabama football games are already sold out except for 2 and those tickets will go on sale next week and probably be gone within minutes or seconds!! This bit of information makes me sad for two reasons...
1. We had planned on taking KK to a Bama home game this year in Tuscaloosa to experience Bama football at its best. (We still are going to but read #2)
2. It means WE (Chief) could possibly be paying seriously high dollar for some tickets now!! Lovely!!!

The second part of the email had me dancing and whooo'ing it as I watched it!!!
Oh, and my man looks so good in the video too!!!
I also can not wait to see Richardson play this year too, it is going to be epic!!!

Be on the look out for pictures coming soon of some precious kiddos decked in their Bama gear!!!
ROLLL TIDE ROLLL!!!

Going to the Chapel...No the Beach!!

Chief and I traveled back down to Orange Beach over the July 4th weekend to celebrate one of our sweet sweet "high school," friend's wedding weekend BLOWOUT!!!

We had the best time acting like we didn't have any responsibilities for 4 whole days and I am sure this sounds beyond horrible but it was oh so fun! My poor legs danced themselves off and my max of 5 hours of sleep a night hit me like a Mack truck everyday around 3 in the afternoon!

Randi and Brian planned everything perfectly with events planned everyday to entertain all of our friends that made the trip down to Alabama and they didn't disappoint to say the least! The food was amazing, the drinks were wonderful and the parties were AWESOME!!!

Chief and I really felt our age by the end of the trip because we do not go out (maybe 2 times a year and that's just to dinner and a movie  ha!) and we are major HOME BODIES!!! I didn't take many pictures at all...like 10 at the most! I am sorry I know it is horrible but seriously we were having way too much fun to whip out the camera! I do have one video, compliments of Mrs. Kendal Hurst (Jeremy Hurst wife)... We are attempting to do the "Wobble!" I honestly did not know what this was or how to do it... When they told me what it was called I thought they (Kirk and Ryan) were playing a joke on me! Well, the video is TOO funny! From left to right it is... Me, Chief, Ryan Collins, Sarah Collins, and Jeremy Hurst ... I am apologizing right now! The combination of non rhythm and Randi's signature drinks makes one funny "Wobble" dance video!!!

Collins and the 2nd "scuba mask" he found and used!!!!

Me, Stacey, Collins and Jessica
"Hey Miss Vickie"
Toni, Stacey and I in our cheer positions!

The beautiful Bride and her new hubby!!!
Ryan, Sarah, Jeremy and Kendal were involved in a little "8 car pile up" in the Mobile tunnel! No seriously!!! This is Kendal's poor car after the slip up! Everyone was fine with no injuries but the funny thing was Collins was driving! Once we all knew they were fine we cold not stop laughing- I mean traffic was backed up like 15 miles...ha! I know you are probably thinking we are some awful people laughing about this... but if you know Collins you can't help but laugh!!!

This was my face the entire weekend! I laughed SOOOO hard the whole time and Kirk ( Colonel Sanders..KFC Chicken-check out his shoes!!!) was killing me! Literally he threw me around the dance floor like a rag doll! Thanks Jessica for this awesome picture!

Bachlorette Party!!! We had the best time laughing, eating and dancing the night away! One little momma (not me I promise) had the blue lights (police) involved by the end of the night!! ha!

Lastly, my sweet Chief and I at the reception!!

Life's a Beach

Well, life was a beach for the Jacobs' crew this summer...

After 3 trips ( 2 which were combined back to back and then a 3rd four days later) to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach we are back into our school/football routine. Chief is only off for about 2 1/2 weeks each summer so we definitely utilized that time this summer by staying on the road to the beach for our families vacays and then heading back down over the 4th of July for our sweet dear friend, Rand's wedding.

Our family vacay's (Chief's mom then with Chief's dad) were good and went by so terribly fast. The kids enjoyed the sun, sand, go-karts and the pools! Camdyn Elliot did wonderful the entire 10 days we were gone and she soaked up the sun and loved playing in the pools! We hit up our favorite restaurants, shopped a little and really relaxed more than we ever have when down at the beach.

Elliot and I were able to go on a "date night" and my precious MIL-Momma Kathy kept the kiddos one night so we hit up the Flora -Bama for some Royals Reds and Cajun Oysters...mmmm wonderful!!! The Flora-Bama just makes me laugh and it is such a fun place to hang out (if you want to hang in old shed??? ha! No kidding but it really is like a big wood shed) listen to music and have a great time dancing...Which we did!

I was able to completely finish 3 books by the end of our trip thanks to Chief and afternoon naps!!! I was very thankful for my 2 hour kid free layout session each afternoon it was so wonderful to read, listen to my ipod and not have to ever look up from book! I was also able to catch up on the "Top Hits" from Pandora radio... I felt "old" because I had not heard of the majority of the songs! ha!
As moms we cherish the small things and I mean we really do!  Thanks Chief! Which don't worry he played golf everyday so he wasn't being left out... ha!

I will do a second post from our "without kiddos" beach trip tomorrow...
Enjoy some pictures of 2010 beach trip!!!

Swim Fishy Swim

Mr Cannon took his first ever swim lesson this week and he loved it! The first five minutes was not pleasant at all to say the least... He informed Miss Shelby that she scared him! Lovely!
He has another lesson tonight and then we head out at 3 am for Gulf Shores! I can't wait and I also can't wait to see my Bama family!!!

Sad story is... I found this at my parents house last weekend and when I saw it I thought oh my that is one old newspaper article! Ha!
I thought y'all would enjoy it as much as I did! Those were some fun and funnier times!

First Day of Summer

Today is our first official day of summer! Yah!

Chief and KK finished their last day yesterday but they both reported to football camp this am at 6:30! Good morning!

We are headed to the beach next week for 9 days... Yes 9-count them! Love! I am making my packing list and attempting to get organized since packing for 5 people takes up some time!

I wanted to share a few things that really make me smile....

I am loving this book... It is a real laugh out loud book! I love how it is written and being from a small town with the population being mainly African American the "talk" is cracking me up!

This cup.... One of my precious preschool kiddos gave me this as a gift and I use it everyday! My fav beverage in it is Diet Coke... But at the beach this thing will be filled with a nice lime green margaritas!

Library Days!!! Cannon and I heart our library so much that we usually visit at least twice a week!

My honor roll making fav 3rd grader.. Now 4th grader!! KK also got the Presidential Fitness Award!!! We love you buddy and we are so proud of you!!!

Lastly, my sweet thang hubby surprised me yesterday with this trip...

Whoo hoooo! Chief and I are going to the beach ALONE in July!!! We have not went on a vacation without our kiddos ( I consider more than 1 day alone a vacay) in over 4 years!!! Yes count them 4 years and now we are going this summer for 5 days yes count again...5 days!!!

Lovely!!!

Happy Summer Day!!

Balls...not the athletic ones!!!

I will apologize for the title now... I am truly sorry for the suggestive title but it is necessary.

The sweet little boy in the above picture has been in a LOT of T-R-O-U-B-L-E the past few weeks for using the term: balls!
As I am sure you are assuming by now he is not using the word to talk about throwing a ball, catching a ball, or saying , " look at all the balls in the yard!"

Oh no, how i wish he was. This boy has been saying it and referring to his boy parts and KK's boy parts and etc. He LOVES saying the word, singing it, screaming and hitting it! Lovely!

Last week, he was getting in trouble for climbing the pantry shelves ( mental note: never let Torri watch your children is happening now! Ha!) I was bent down talking eye to eye to him. After scolding and such I asked him to tell me sorry for not listening... In return I got a bowed up eye to eye 3 year old fuming mad saying, " I m gonna kick your balls off Mom!" Seriously???
I told him,"go ahead and kick my balls off because mommas do not have balls! I then busted up laughing and he was serious as a heart attack still with teeth clinched!

Needless to say his daddy and him had a long talk about that word... This week he has turned to a new word... Nuts! And no I am not kidding, he hears KK and his friends at soccer talking about who got kicked in the "nuts,"...huh living the life as a mom to boys and a little sweet pea!

So, watch out for Cannon because he tells me everyday that when he plays football
for the "byant hoenets"
he will knock their nuts off! Chief
said he may have to get Cannon to give a pre-game speech of
that this Fall!

Sorry girls!

Bad Dreaming

I feel like this weekend was a totally bad dream and I would like to ask for a do over! Ha! Really? Yes, totally completely serious!

Chief's State Championship game was rain delayed twice causing complete chaos with the wedding he was supposed to be in. Let's just say this momma got her refund from the tux rental! And nor did we even make it to the reception due to practice and late meetings.

Saturday after lunch KK's class had a swimming party and they also invited Cannon Ty (I think they knew he would provide entertainment) to swim. Here is Cannon Ty before we were out of the drive way leaving the party!

We got lost going home-don't even ask and ended up back in Bryant an hour later! Yes, it should have taken like 10 minutes go get home! Lovely! That night the game was delayed again until Sunday but they practiced until LATE causing us to miss all wedding festivities-which in return I got my $160 refund! YES! Whoo hooo!

Sunday after church we all looked like wet rats from the down pour that attacked Bryant just as church let out! So, I had to take a shower and re fix my hair before we left for
Conway- this has major meaning just letting you know- and of course Chief and the team were together as of early a.m. I start to dry my hair while entertaining little Miss and I start to smell something sweet but burning. I ask KK if he is fixing a snack, no,
and could not figure out where the smell was coming from. At that moment my diffuser falls off my hair dryer and I pick it up to put it back on and see this...

The lovely sweet smell was fruit snacks being melted into my hair dryer. Thank you Cannon Ty! He said my hair dyer was hungry!

Lastly, I know this will sound horrible I am sure but... I hate to lose! Chief really hates to lose and so does KK. Last night we lost big in the championship game and I am still ill about it. Our boys just had to many errors early on and could not swing their bats like they needed to. I have never in Cheif's coaching career and playing days at college seen student athletes who work harder than these boys. They have 6 day a week mornings @5:45 and then after school everyday until after 6:30. Needless to say it broke my heart to see these boys so broken last night. As soon as I got into the car I broke down sobbing not for myself or Chiefs career, but for the work and heart the boys and coaches have put into this season. I love them all as if they were my boys. The last thing I will say is watch out Conway next year it will not be pleasant! We Believe!

Here are a few pictures from before the game eating and Cannon Ty at the game...

Title Town

I can't believe that a year ago today I was 7 months preggo loading my mom ride up to head to the state championship softball game.

Today I am crazy packing for a wild weekend that includes us heading to the Championship
7A Baseball game tomorrow! Yes, I could not be prouder of Chief- he has the opportunity to become a back to back state championship coach. Last year he was softball and when he moved to baseball this year we knew these boys could play some ball. They go into tomorrows game ranked #1 in the state and #8 in the nation!!! Whoo hoo! Sorry I usually don't do all this but I am so proud of him and all his hard work. They practice every morning starting at 5:45 am before school and then practice staring at 2 every afternoon till around 6:30. Then meetings to prepare for the next day and etc until late into the evening.

So, Wednesday night the Fox station did a special on the news with him and let me tell you ... Thursday morning( I dvr'd it) KK and Cannon were so proud of seeing their daddy on TV!

Please say a prayer for us tomorrow that the Lord will keep our boys healthy and to play their hardest. They have been working their tails off all year including giving up their Christmas break, entire Spring Break and most missed their Senior Prom for this season!
Go Hornets! We Believe!

We also have a wedding tomorrow night too! Long story short, Chief's best friend from high school is getting married and he was supposed to be a groomsmen up until Monday. We found out monday that they were playing the big game at the same time as the wedding so we will only be making the reception-very late! Hopefully!

We are truly feeling blessed in this season even though some days we are just praying to get through the day. Our kids are healthy, we have jobs- which I LOVE and we see the lord at work.

Oh, and a big ROLL
TIDE ...
Bama beat South Carolina last night! Bama Baseball we love!
Oh, and one more thing less than 30 days and I will be in the sweet state of Alabama with my toes in the sand!

Here is a little sweetness for your day!

the little things

As I get older I so appreciate the small little things...

For those who know me well... I didn't spend 5 bucks on this whopper! One of my sweet little kiddos(his momma) gave me a rather generous Starbucks gift card! It was rather splendid while I read my bible this am.. I am so thankful for all the little goodies I got last week during Teacher Appreciation Week! Little Momma and I might use my McAlister's gift card for lunch today while Cannon is at school! Yummy! Another little thing that I love!

Cannon & Rudolph

This little thing I love too! Cannon and his little Rudolph at the breakfast table this morning! He shares his milk and chocolate donuts with him each weekday so sweet!! Sweet Cannon- I could literally just take a bite out of his little doll self!!

KK!!!!

Oh this sweet little thing... LOVE!!!
KK has been asking a lot of questions about his salvation and the lord! We sat outside the other night for an hour talking about his heart, God and his relationship forward... It was like I was talking to a teenager!
I was in my early twenties when I asked the lord to live in my heart and take over my life completely so this conversation made me feel like I was doing something right as a mother and that KK was seeing it! After we came inside I had to shut myself in the bathroom so I could weep tears of happiness and thankfulness! God is so good! I am so proud and blessed to be his momma!

And, little momma!

Love her! This little momma has taught me oh so much in the past nine months!!! To think we had decided that two children were great and we were finished with babies... The Lord had a different but wonderful plan! Thankful!
She makes me crack up everyday and I pray daily that I can handle her personality!!! Hence, the nickname Little Momma- and feel free to break out in song of ," hey little momma why you jus so funky...."
We do it all the time... Even Chief along with dance moves!

I don't have a picture of Chief on my phone... But I love him too... We just had our anniversary and it seems so crazy love that we have been together for over 11 years! Wild!!!! Again, thankful even though I could give him a swift kick most days and yes go ahead and think where I would like to kick him...Ha!

And lastly I can't take a picture of quietness... But it is such a little thing that I have grown to fall head over heals for! Love!

happy wednesday!!!
