Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!!!!

Oh, my sweet boy is "8" today!!!

I can't believe you have already been part of mine and daddy's life for eight years, gosh it has flown by. It seems like "yesternight" that you were a little boy!You are so big and such a young man too. You make me laugh all the time and I love to count your new freckles as you read to me. As we sing at the top of our lungs in the car to Taylor, Miley or the Jonas Brothers I just LOVE it, and I love to hear your voice sing so loud!!!

You are a dancing machine grooving to the beat-I think you may get the dance moves for me because you know how daddy dances.....also always remember High School Musical we have that whole thing down.

I get so nervous watching you play basketball and baseball but gosh you run just like daddy and you are such an athlete. That you do get from daddy!!!! I do throw the ball like a girl!!
I can't wait to see how you continue to grow as a athlete and I am sure you will continue to make us so proud of you.

You have the best little spirit and you are so easy going! We could not ask for a better little man!
We love you and thank you for always making us laugh! Hey, only 8 more years till you can drive!!!

Love you first!!!

Thank you Lord!!

As I post today I am sitting on my mother in-laws comfy couch all nestled in watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I think I almost forgot how comfy her couch was, how much I enjoy the cinnamon/orange she continues to burn on the stove and how all of our family continues to stop in. I can't wait to hear the sound of Aunt Mary's south Alabama voice and hear everyone screaming Roll Tide tomorrow except for the Powell's (Auburn- W** E****). But today when I woke up I felt at home in Alabama and thought of the many blessings that we are so very thankful for this year.

* Elliot's job and how much he enjoys it
*My sweet angel boys Elliot, Caleb and Cannon Ty
*my job
*our home and our home church
*Elliot- we met in high school and I love him more today than I ever have
*our family in Arkansas, Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, California and Alabama
*our relationship with the Lord-we didn't really consistently grow up in church and knowing the lord . about five years ago Elliot and I became very active in church and we baptized together in August 2004. We are just so thankful and blessed for our relationship with the Lord. We would not be the parents we are today or the people we are.
*All of our friends from high school to coaching friends... our coaching friends have given us advice and strength that I would have never dreamed of. I (Torri) am so thankful for the new friends I have met throughout this past year with our blog. I love talking and getting advice for coaches wives also. Thank you! (thanks Channa and Leslie)
*My best friend Autumn-we met in high school but went to different schools over 100 miles apart. we have maintained our friendship for over 13 years and we are each others carbon copies. i admire her strength and I look up to her she is so awesome. he husband is in boot camp right now for the army in fort knox, ky and words just can't describe how i love her. she is the definition of "best friend'-thank you Autumn.

Okay, and a few things I am thankful but I could live without...
*Sonic Cokes
*donuts
*oysters-I will probly consume at least 100 in the next few days-gotta love Alabama Thanksgiving
*the beach-Destin
*football-this really could go above but my life would be boring without it!
*yellow box flip flops
*Tyler Candles *homecoming* my fav scent-thanks Channa!
*my laptop
*elliot's iphone-i am way too cheap to buy one for myself
*ponytail holders and tennis shoes
*ipod
*and SNACKS-i love to eat!!

I will post pictures of our Alabama Thanksgiving on Saturday! Oh, and tomorrow remember to say a Roll TIde for Alabama!!!!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

Shake It Like A Salt Shaker

The past few months have almost made me lose it, seriously. Time has flown by and my mind is almost gone due to these ladies. Each fall for the past five years I have been a choreographer for a few dance teams in Arkansas, and I do actually love it. Last year I went into contract with the Bryant School District to teach technique and choreograph all material for the school. The groups above are great but I am not sure I have ever experienced the drama and issues ever even during the years I cheered and coached for Universal Cheerleaders Association.

I have two squads: the top pic is of 7th grade and the bottom pic is 8th grade. Today was our last competition and even though I am very relieved I love the girls to death and I am so proud of them.

7th grade: oh did we have trials.... It is my first year to have these girls and we had a lot of work to do. At their first competition they did great. Military they placed 2nd and Kick they placed 3rd-the competition is a tough one it was at Bryant and it is a high standard comp with competition throughout the state. We also had one of girls placed in the hospital 2 days before so therefore we had to rework the whole routine. But they did wonderful. This morning was our other competition and they had more competition then we expected-the did great again. Military-2nd again (we will def be working over that hump in the Spring) and Kick they placed 3rd again. I was very proud of these 7th grade ladies.

8th grade: Oh, I love these ladies and I have had them for the past two years. They are my girls that I can just give them "the coach torri look" and they know exactly what I am thinking. Their technique has made a 180 since last year and they are just so confident this year. I was able to give them routines that I never would have imagined presently them with a year ago also. They are also my girls that I can cut up with and let them see my true personality. Most of these girls know, "Coach Jacobs" so it is always a fine line that I have to stay behind but this year it has been wonderful to let them actually "in" and it has been so fun so fun!!

Let me give you some background on them: last year they were not strong at all. And, at Bryant DANCE ranks very high up there with Football. Crazy huh? Bryant loves football and dance team. Hornet Steppers are known in this neck of the woods!!!

(Everything I am typing I have also told them, I am very honest with them. Most of the time they don't like it but it is that way -as they say ," It's the way Coach Torri rolls!!) They did not place at all last year at competitions, they were very weak dancers-we were constantly working through out off season to strengthen them and THEY did it.

I think we shocked the pants off the community at our first competition of the season. It was so amazing to have people grab my arm at football games and at the competition and say WOW those girls are amazing this year. It finally felt like the work paid off and I finally felt part of the dance community here, kinda like I earned my keep. The best thing happened when in the bathroom at competition, (yes in the bathroom) I was actually in my stall trying to hurry and someone next to me said ,"ummmm are you the tech coach for bethal ? I answered ,"ummm yes why?," really on my toes huh? And this lady went on to tell me how she could not believe the turn around of the dance program at Bethal Middle and she went on the thank me for my work. It was one of those AHHH moments... I think I def left the bathroom with my head held higher and a little more fight in me more than ever.

Okay, so back to 8th grade : First competition placements------ hold on to your seat POM 1st PLACE (yes over 35 points between us and 2nd place finishers) I had to follow through on the red lipstick bet- I make the girls wear BRIGHT red lips -they hate it. They made me bet that if they placed 1st in anything I would wear the BRIGHT RED LIPS for the rest of the competition day-it was like 1:30 and I had to wear it home so it was after 8:30 when I got home. Gotta love it! And, on to HIP HOP 2nd PLACE!!!! At this point I literally fell off the bleacher, Heather (school sponsor) and I almost lost it, we both had tears in our eyes and I was standing on the bleacher and I hit the floor-between laughing and crying I was amazed at these ladies. Can you believe WE placed in hip hop - it is always the same schools that place high in this category and we ROCKED it!! Today, they competed great again but this week we had a huge bump in the road we lost a girl off the squad on Wednesday due to a poor choice she made and we had to revise last minute. Today, they placed 2nd-HIP HOP (I know watch out) and 3rd POM- my jury is still out on our score in POM I do not agree with the score sheets on this one!!! But, they did GREAT!!

I love these ladies and I know I complain sometimes regarding the time it takes away from my family during the busiest time in our lives , football season, but I LOVE it! I love curling hair, putting bun covers on, bobby pins bobby pins, BRIGHT RED LIPSTICK, glitter and yelling my signature, "C'mon LADIES!!! It will take me a few weeks to get back to our crazy football schedule but these ladies are so worth it and they taught more this year then I could have taught my self. I saw more this year than in 20 years of dancing and cheering, God is amazing and I am so thankful he opened this door for me. I give all the glory to him. thank you!

For the girls, " Shake it like a salt shaker!"

Sweet Thang

Weeks ago around my hubby's bday I said that I was going to do a post all about my man, so here it goes! Oh, and I had to add a picture of Caleb at the end-he is with Evan the Otter. Elliot played minor league baseball in Indiana and this was their mascot Caleb loved him.
So, to my hubby ... he is great and I am so thankful God placed him in my life. We have been together for over 11 years now and I can honestly say I am more in love with him today than ever.
My husband is a high school football coach as most of you know -offensive coordinator/quarterbacks, wrestling head coach and now hitting coach for Bryant High School softball. Lord bless him please. Well, I am going to give y'all some inside info on my main squeeze...
  • Loves Harry Potter-absol. favorite
  • He loves to go the movies by himself or go out to eat alone. I know kinda weird.
  • He does not take his socks off ever with his hands-he uses his feet and the floor... okay do I need to stop??? hahahah!
  • He once ate at least 200 shrimp cocktail backstage in VIP at Brooks and Dunn concert in Nashville.
  • Set a ton of records at Arkansas State Univ for football and baseball! Go Tribe!
  • When we first met in high school I could not stand him... he would always wink at me after every football during prayer and Alma matter... guess I finally caught on!
  • He gets hooked on country music for weeks, then hip hop and then to christian it is a constant cycle.
  • He has been an amazing role model for young men during the past ten years of his life-his love for the game, his faith and love for life is amazing. The way athletes look to him always makes me tear up when I get to witness it.
  • This one is more me than him I guess: I still have a nervous belly at every game till I see kick off and someone gets tackled-My eyes tear up and I get chill bumps at every touchdown scored by my hubby's team-I tear up every game when I first see my hubby doing his thang!
  • We call each other "sweet thang," because Elliot had a manager for the first football team he coached and he was the sweetest boy and he had down syndrome. Every time he would see me (the student-manager) he would say , "Hey, sweet thang," I would always tell Elliot about it and he would never say much. I kinda thought it was cute-till one day at practice a few days after I miscarried 3 1/2 years ago he walked up to Elliot and said , "how is sweet thang i wanted to check on her?" He came home from practice that day calling me sweet thang. We will never forget that sweet child who started our name calling.
  • He is a dipper-yes I know how nasty? But, I love him to death and it is his stress reliever I can't complain during football season.
  • He loves to watch political news shows-esp the one with really annoying democrat and I can't think of her name...opps

Well, that's MY sweet thang!!! I love him to death and continue to learn more about him each day and I love those new things so much. Each day I thank God how much he has showed us about love, marriage and being best friends with each other. Love you EJ!!!

Can I get a whoo hoooo?

Whoooo hooooo!!!! Oh, my this week has been something else so I decided I really needed to recap.

Right now we find ourselves in the beginning of football season (conference play has just began) and smack in the middle of fall baseball and dance team competition season. This weekend my parents came to help with the kids since we were literally running from fall fest parade, running Saturday errands, dance team practice, golf tournament, makeup baseball games and finally hitting the couch! Man, that was a huge run on sentence sorry all you grammatically correct people!

This week Cannon started a new sitter Mrs. Ashley, our old sitter Carla unexpectedly moved to Branson (her husband got a promotion). At first we were told she would be here till November but last week at work I got a call on Thursday about 2:00 from Carla(I get off at 3:00 ) telling me that, that day would be her last day. So, I have a great friend who stays home with her children and she was interested in keeping one or two kids so we are so blessed to have her. Cannon had a great week also-it was just really different because Elliot is now taking Cannon every morning because Ashley lives right by the school. This change in routine actually made me and Caleb run late every morning??? who knows why?

All week long we never were in bed by 11:00, for any of you that know us well this is crazy we are in bed normally at 8:30 and it was my Friday to work...awful. And I had to plan, paint signs and decorate a float on Friday for fall fest Saturday morning. Great job to those who helped and a huge THANK YOU for the person who was SUPPOSED to be the chairman for the fall fest float-that last part was a little smarty pants-irresponsible people really bother me.

Let me know tell how our Friday ended.... WE WON WE BEAT CATHOLIC!!

Our boys were not predicted to win this week... Hooten's was predicting a 13 to 16 point spread well guess what HOOTENS it was the other way around!!!! Those HOOTENS people really need some new employees!!! This win was really bitter sweet! Even little Cannon Ty was yelling, "Go, Go , Go to Rycroft (the best running back in the state I might add)

Elliot's high school coach is the head coach at Catholic now so we were also able to see some great friends also. We were able to go to dinner before the rival started it was nice-4th quarter though I had to head to the sideline couldn't take it anymore!

Needless to say my husband is one happy man this weekend! After all the craziness yesterday my parents headed home and I headed to pick up a pizza and we watched the Iowa /Penn State game and were in bed by 8:45. Everyone at our house slept till 9:00 am and we are still in our pj's except for Elliot-THEY GOT THE DAY OFF WHOO OHOOOOO-so he is mowing the yard!

By the way the new DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES starts tonight- I think Elliot is more pumped than me!!! Don't tell guys!!

Duck Duck Goose

As I sit up waiting on my sweet hubby to come in from tonight game in Conway (big win by the way 35-7) I am so pumped about tomorrow. After dropping Caleb off at school I will head to Little Rock to attend the Duck Duck Goose sale-it is great!! It is consignment sale with great stuff last season everything I bought (Polo) was new still had the Dillards proof of purchase yellow tag on it. I bought over ten pieces for ready .... $65.00 not just shirts or shorts like rompers than usually are $65 a piece at Dillards. I felt like I was stealing when I walked out of the fairgrounds. I hope I can find some great stuff again, Cannon Ty is in need of clothes he is 17months and wears a 2T in pants and 2T/3T in pants. Wish me luck tomorrow...

Also, I will be posting all about my "sweet thang," tomorrow... it's his birthday!!!! I will also tell why I tend to call him sweet thang most of the time... very funny story.

Prayer...Please

Today, has been a very difficult day for our family. (the Hendersons,Jacobs, Gaddys, Wallace, Powell and I am sure I have missed a last name connected to our family-sorry it has been a day)

We need prayer and I am never ashamed to ask for it...

Our sweet little angel Quinn (a cousin) is 6 years old and was in a car accident.
He is at Alabama's Children Hospital in Mobile.
He is currently in a drug induced coma and has no brain activity.
This afternoon his amazing and loving parents were given the news that they would have to make the decision of when to end life support.
His parents have amazing faith and have a strong relationship with God. They need our prayers.

Today, I have cried at times been mad at times -have thought about my Caleb at times it has been a very hard today. We can not question the Lord and I know this and I will not do this. This is a decision no one especially a parent never wants to have to make. We know Quinn needs his heavenly father and he will be embracing his shortly.

Please pray for Greta (his mommy) and Troy( daddy) and lift them up to our Lord and Savior.

9-11

The first thing I need to say is if you get offended easily you may not want to read further....
Today, is a very important day to our nation. I can still remember exactly where I was standing in my dorm room at college when I saw the first plane hit the first tower and how Elliot's voice sounded when he told me in front of the library that his uncle was on one of the planes that crashed that day. He was a hero on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, he was one of the heroic men that attempted to regain control of the plane. So, we always have this tie to this day and I usually do cry every time someone speaks of this day. I did not know his uncle due to a divorce in the family I actually had not met him, but the our land was completely rocked that day and other humans jerked the rug from under our feet.
Most of you may know that Elliot and I our major republicans I mean as conservative as you can get. The political world has really caused us stress in the past year and we continue to pray that everyone will value "in God we trust." But, I often do not even comment on our President-I try to remain respectful even at times very hard-this morning while Cannon Ty and I were home I turned on the tv and saw the picture above. I began weeping so hard that I had to cover my face-this picture brought pain and aspect that I have yet to see from this man above. This picture captured some meaning for me and some new found respect. I have to admit I have not too much respect for this person but I will continue to pray everyday that he leads our country with "our" (Americans) best interest at heart.
I am so thankful to be an American and I thank daily the men and women who serve our country and who begin serving our country in the future. Each time I think of the selflessness it takes to join the armed services it brings tears to my eyes-I am so thankful.
So, as this 9-11 passes I feel that I let go of some bitterness towards Obama and I will look forward and be more positive. (Now, I didn't say I liked him or anything like that... sorry I had to add my humor.)
Thank you and we will always remember...

Silver Dollar City Baby!!!!

This week is a super busy week at the Jacobs' house.....
  • First, I have to complain about the post service... yes the government ran United States Postal Service..... I sent a precious little Texan-Charly her football shirt and bow this weekend. When I arrived home on Tuesday I found a box on my front steps, in this box contained the package I mailed to Channa (Life as a Coach's Wife-fav blog) for Charly. The post office some how who knows basically shredded the package-they tore off a bow from the shoulder and shredded her hair bow. I was so upset-I called Channa told her what happened she was super sweet-fixed it last night and remailed it today after work. Please say a prayer for the package today!
  • Tomorrow night is our first JV game of the season! Go HORNETS!!!! So, what does that mean for me? Well, since I am sure you are dying to know.... school night on tests on Friday for Caleb. We will be studying spelling words and reading at the stadium. Yes, I am embarrassing to my child! Thanks! Also, I have 5 bows to finish by 5:00 tomorrow-delivered by kick off for 8th grade dance team! Our game is at 7:30
  • SALT BOWL-its kinda a big deal around here! Friday night we are headed to the big game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock-such a great opportunity for the boys to play where the Razorbacks play. We are very excited-11 straight wins for Bryant in the Salt Bowl-lets make it 12 boys!
  • Friday night after the Salt Bowl we are headed to -(sorry about the awful header only thing I could find) BRANSON!!!! Whoooo hooooo! We are so pumped and we really need this weekend vacation and I mean we NEED it! We are headed there until early morning Monday-we have to head back for football meetings and practice. We are so thankful they are getting the weekend off.
  • Saturday we are headed to where other than: SILVER DOLLAR CITY!!!! Caleb and I are so ready to ride some roller coasters. We are staying a new resort where if you bought one day you got the 2nd free at Silver Dollar City plus the resort/hotel has an indoor water park-can't wait. I know some of you are thinking she is a little too excited about Branson but I love the beach we go every year and last year we started going to Branson in the fall and it was my first time last year and we loved it! There is a LOT of retirees but its great!!! We love the food too! I already know what I am eating at Silver Dollar City~ its planned out!

I am sleeping in on Sunday till at least 8:30 am and I want to lay in bed for a bit and just watch TV. We also want to rest on this trip before our week starts back over.

Lastly, I really need to share two things:

1. We found out yesterday that our babysitter may be moving, we will know on Saturday. I am very sad about this because I love her so much and trust her with everything. This move would be great for their family and I completely understand because we tend to move every few years for Elliot to better himself with his job. Please pray that if they do move we are able to find someone again as great as Carla.

2. Today, I found out that an amazing friend of mine (who is a mother and wife) has cancer and things are not looking good at all. They have small children and I can't stop thinking and praying for them. I have limited information but it has moved fast over her body and we are just praying for the days she will have with her children and husband. I love yall!

I hope everyone has a great football weekend and I hope things go yall's way (WIN)!!!

In very deep....

Okay, have you ever wanted to start something new but only to dabble in it?
But, then next thing you know you are head deep?
Okay, I am over here raising both hands in the air and waving them crazy from side to side!!!!!
A few posts ago, I posted some football t-shirts that I started making and oh boy has it went!!! Which is great, don't get me wrong at all!!! I am very pumped and I should not be complaining like I am today! But, sometimes a girl just gots ta vent!
Well, I am lovin' it of course but I think I have surprised myself! I have over 70 bow orders on my desk right now and 10 boy/girl football shirts. (By the way one of the new little girl shirts above). Shout to Channa, your order is being mailed today!!!! Your neice will be the cutest little football chick at the stadium!!! Plus, I am making the "cutest" Halloween shirts and trying to attempt at starting Christmas ones! But, this morning I figured out the stress and where it is coming from....ME!!! Okay, when I place an order for anything I want it ASAP (very bad habit) I know that sounds awful! So, I tend to treat my orders like I would like them.... very quick! I need to give myself a few days to process the orders-oh and my poor sewing machine. Caleb told me yesterday that he thinks it may blow up!!!
So, today I am going to finish all orders YES all of it! And, take off Saturday!!!! Whooo hoooo .... not really!
WE START DANCE TEAM COMPETITION PRACTICE SATURDAY!!!!!
Yes, I am thinking my plate is full of great food and the food is starting to fall off onto the floor! I have four dance to choreograph before tomorrow morning!! Lord, help me please!!! Also, any ideas on music????
The boys of the house are doing great.... I am so proud of Caleb. I met with his teacher last Friday after school and left literally crying tears of happiness (more to that later). Cannon Ty is hilarious... he got bit by another child yesterday at Carla's and it broke the skin-he really ate it up. He walked around last night with his lip out holding his arm up to show everyone. Elliot-gosh I love this man! I am more in love with him everyday-he is just amazing! His offensive kicked MAJOR tail this week (he is an offensive coordinator) major fist bump honey!!!

Football...its OFFICAL!!!

Today, we officially started football season at 7:00 am this morning. We had our family picture for the program first and then the boys and I headed to Chick-fil-A while they finished up individuals and team pictures. At about 9:00 am they were finally able to start. I just wanted to say how awesome this morning was... the smell of wet grass and the beautiful sound of helmets slamming into each other. It was wonderful music to my ears. Okay, I am sure you are thinking oh, she is one weird chick... I am its okay! I just love it!

I wasn't able to take many pictures because Cannon Ty did not get his morning nap (it usually is during the same time all the fun took place) he instead was running everywhere like a mad man. He was so funny though... he kept throwing his arms up above his head for "TOUCHDOWN," every time someone caught the ball and when someone would really lite someone up he would go, "OOOHHHHHH!" Just priceless-we have taught him right as a 16 month old!

I was able to catch my sweet thang of a hubby doin his thang!!! Also, pay attention to Caleb lookin like a coach out there on the scrimmage field-it is habit for him I think. The boys looked okay today- Coach Jacobs said they look horrible and they really need some work????? whho knows...

Lastly, our neighbors house! Caleb and I saw this when leaving early to head to the football stadium and I had to get out and take a picture! Bless their hearts! Elliot said I sure hope they weren't meaning to get us and got the wrong house...it was just too funny and the pic does not do the job justice! It was yarn!!

Come and Get 'Em... Football Shirts!!

These are my newest design..... gingham football shirts!!!! Too cute huh?
I finished Cannon Ty's shirt just in time for our family picture, tomorrow morning at 8:00 am for the football program. Everyone else had something to wear but Cannon Ty. I love it! I am so pumped, they only thing and I will tell on myself really quick... I went to Walmart and got him a 2t-3t shirt size (he is only 16 months tomorrow) knowing it would fit. As you can see in the picture it is very snug in the belly area. So, in a bit after Elliot gets home from football practice I am off to Walmart to buy another shirt in 4t size and start sewing another one. A guy Elliot coaches with has a son smaller than Can Ty so little Mr. Ryan will be receiving this one... happy hornet season Ryan.
I am so proud of my self and lovin the shirt.
I have tons to post about this weekend... Caleb and I had a back to school shopping day by ourselves today. Just a hint, I cried at abercrombie kids....

These Days....

Today, I found this sweet picture of my youngest man! While going through pictures on my computer I came around this precious pic of baby Cannon Ty last summer. It was taken while playing putt putt in Branson on our annual end of summer Branson trip. We are going Labor Day weekend after the Salt Bowl Friday night... let me explain the Salt Bowl. The Salt Bowl is the biggest game of the year... it is Bryant vs Benton (we are in the same town basically) Bryant is way bigger than Benton but it was been a 25 yr tradition to play each other the first game of the season. It is so popular (it is big compeition between benton and bryant people crazy??? of whos better in everything) that we now play this game in Little Rock at War Memorial Stadium... same place the Razorback plays!! Go Hogs! Bryant has won like the past 10 years whooo hooooo!
Okay, anway so we are going in a few weeks to Branson-we love it there! So fun!
But, this was taken last summer and I could not believe how Cannon Ty has grown and it is so funny! I can see his personality in this picture and it is him today!

He is 16 months this Saturday, I can't believe it. He is talking ALL the time, running everywhere, climbing in and out of everything, and he loves the pool! He sings the Dell commerical "lollipop, lollipop ohhh lollipop," all day long and then laughs at himself. He loves Mrs. Carla his babysitter and he claps when we pull in her driveway and it makes me smile each time. He does his arms above his head when we yell, "TOUCHDOWN." VERY PROUD!!!! He is saying:ball, bink (passie), juice, snack, thank you, please, bubba, daddy, momma, night night, bye, fish, book, car, out, lollipop and I am sure I have forgot somethhing.

I will post again this weekend, it is Media Day in Hornetland..... we are so pumped!

This starts the season officially to me, gosh time as flown by and I can't believe this time has rolled around again so quickly. Don't tell my husband but I am kinda excited about getting started on the 2009 Hornet season... do you want to know why? I get my schedule/routine back, we are so much more organized during season. Please don't ask me why because I have not a clue why that is.

So, we spend the next 48 hours having dad (Elliot) to ourselves... we will enjoy every minute of it!

Oldies but GOODIES....

This past weekend we were able to spend some great time with some awesome friends of ours from high school! It was great! I can def same they are some oldies but def some goodies... I guess we will keep 'em! We love them!

One of our friends was able to get a night off from her duties (Miss Arkansas) and Randi was in from Memphis so we all gathered for dinner and drinks at Bonefish. It was too FAB! We laughed our tails off, (I am sure my Patron Margarita helped- it kicked my tail),I was not prepared for that drink fo' so.

We ended up closing down the restaurant and I am pretty sure no one wanted to sit around us due to our constant laughter and slapping hands- gosh people can yall not act your age! LOL!

Everyone that ate with us either went to high school with us (El Dorado) or dates/married to someone from El Do that we graduated with. Fun times!

Sweet Sweet Summer Time

I have abandoned posting for a while, we have been really busy and a LOT has gone on in the Jacob's household. The one thing I can say is that we are truly blessed and we are so thankful for the multiple blessings God has given us.

We started out with July the 4th at my sisters house in Elk Point, South Dakota! Yes, we drove to South Dakota a whole 13 HOURS!!! So fun! I know you are so jealous at this point. We had a great time hanging out with my sisters, brother in law, grandparents (drove from Wyoming), cousins and my nieces. I loved it and it also made me realize how bad I want to be closer to them geographically! Oh, and the weather as you can tell in pictures was wonderful. July 4th we were in jeans and sweatshirts! I think Elliot and I ate more than we have ever consumed in a week period and played more back yard volleyball than I have in my entire life! Life is so good!

1st pic-Cannon watching fireworks
2nd pic-all the kiddos
3rd pic-me and my wonderful amazing sisters-love them to death
4th pic-our fam pic from the week-it was the best we could get
A few weeks ago we were able to celebrate a great friend of our Scott's birthday. He is married to my first best friend ever, Stacey. We have been friends since we moved to Arkansas, she was my back spot all through cheerleading during high school and has been such an awesome friend to our family. Her and Scott crack us up and we enjoy getting together will all our friends for birthdays. Randi-another great friend from high school was there also and we had such a great time catching up while I was watching my wild kids run crazy through Stacey's new house. It was a great night and we loved being able to see everyone.

Me, Randi and Stacey- love y'all!
I was hesitant to blog about the next subject but I feel like I really need to and that it will help me with some closure. During the month of July we went through the pain of losing our new dog and we also miscarried during this time.We lost our new puppy that we rescued to parvo and it was extremely hard for us to do. Beaux was Caleb's dog and Caleb was actually with my parents on vacation when we had to make the decision at the vets office. Elliot was out of town in a golf tournament and Cannon Ty and I had taken him the vet's office. The vet informed me that it was a severe case and he would have a slim chance of making it after in office intravenous treatment that would last at least a month. It was awful and I boo hooed like a baby. I also at the time was pregnant and had started having complications that morning. After weeks of problems they diagnosed us with a miscarriage (this was not our first miscarriage) and diagnosed me with having some hormone complications.

I am now being treated with hormone treatment and Elliot and I will have some difficult decisions to make in the time ahead.

Okay, sorry I know that was a ton of information-probably info overload so sorry!

One thing that has made us jump for joy and cry tears of happiness this month -Miss Arkansas-Sarah Slocum!!! She is a great friend of ours who dates one of Elliot's best friends from high school. She is the sweetest thing ever and she is so strong in her faith! God has graced her with this amazing job for the next year and we can't wait to see her knock the socks of the judges in Vegas! We love you Sarah!

Destin 2009

Our Destin vacation was wonderful this year, it was a well needed trip and we enjoyed very much.We were able to spend some much needed time with Momma Kathy (EJ's mom) and I loved it, it actually made me miss her so much and praying that we would live near to her again. She lives in south Alabama in the town she grew up in, Linden, and she loves it there!!! We stayed at Sandpiper Cove and it was very nice, it had great pools and the beach was beyond amazing. We usually go to Gulf Shores every summer but from now on we will be staying in Destin! Just beautiful! Thank you Lord !!!

Caleb and Cannon Ty had a great time, we were nervous about Cannon Ty but he rolled, threw and ate sand so I think he had fun!!!! Caleb made an awesome friend while we were there; the little boy and his family had just found out that he was in remission from his cancer-I can't remember what type of cancer but his Mom said it was very rare especially in children. It was an amazing way to praise God while on vacation. We will continue to pray for Ryan and his family throughout the year.

During our trip we had amazing seafood, Elliot and I ate it at every meal if it was possible. Momma Kathy and Norman boiled Alabama gulf shrimp and made Gumbo twice just amazing. Elliot and I ate on AJ's Oyster House-GREAT-we had oysters, crab claws and crab legs Whoooo Hoooo!! Loved it!

We took lots of pictures so I only posted a few tonight-more to come soon! I promise! Also, I will post later about this awful week I had. Enjoy the pictures!!!!
And, we are still finding sand brought back all the way from Destin, Fl to Bryant, AR!!
